Copyright notices (DMCA)
Vylo doesn’t host files — short links point to other websites. Still, we remove links that point to infringing material when we receive a valid notice. If you believe a Vylo link points to material that infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] or through the report form (reason: “Copyright (DMCA)”). Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorised to act for them;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- the Vylo link or links you want removed (for example vylo.cc/abc123), with enough detail for us to find them;
- your contact details: name, address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
Incomplete notices may delay our response. Knowingly sending a false notice can make you liable for damages.
Counter-notices
If your link was removed and you believe it was a mistake or that you have the right to share the material, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected] with:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the link that was removed;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the link was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Vylo may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We may forward a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they don’t tell us they have started legal action, we may restore the link.
Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of users who repeatedly post links to infringing material, and we may close accounts after a single serious violation.
How quickly we respond
We review reports and notices as quickly as we can. Phishing, malware and other reports where people are at risk are handled first. When a notice is valid, we remove the link and may tell the link owner.
